How We Help
We provide Behavioral Health support for both individuals and groups and will link service members, veterans, families and caregivers to counseling and treatment services. These services will help address the challenges of life stressors, mental health and/or substance use needs, military service, transition, deployments, post-traumatic stress, and traumatic brain injuries.

Cabana
Through our partnership with Cabana, DVS is proud to offer FREE services to help you overcome unique barriers to mental health such as stigma, job security, time, and accessibility. Cabana offers professionally moderated groups, on-demand learning, and tools from licensed therapists.
Veterans, service members, and their families are eligible.

Veteran Spouse Support Group
Led by Veteran family members, the groups motivate, self-advocate, and offer support for one another, sharing post-military and transition experiences. All veteran spouses, including Reserve and National Guard are welcome!

Virginia National Guard Family Programs
The Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) Virginia Veteran and Family Support (VVFS) serves the Virginia National Guard and Army Reserve through direct service and extensive engagement. The Peer Services Director, Jamie M. Staten, is the agency’s lead liaison and collaborates directly with the National Guard’s Resiliency (J9) department.
PSD Staten supports the National Guard at community and state-sponsored events by providing targeted outreach, non-clinical peer support, and resource navigation. If you would like to have DVS support your soldiers and their families, you can contact him at jamie.staten@dvs.virginia.gov.
